Police take to streets of Rotherham to stop drivers during lockdown

South Yorkshire Police have started enforcing the government’s new lockdown rules on Rotherham’s Roads

The new laws mean police now have powers to fine and arrest anyone found to be ignoring the government’s advice to stay at home and avoid any non-essential travel.

Police were spotted stopping drivers in the Moorgate Area and Rawmarsh this evening.

People should only leave their homes for food, medicine, exercise or work if necessary.
