Man arrested after Masbrough hit and run

A MAN has been arrested following a “hit-and-run” that left a woman with a head injury

Police were called at 7.05pm on Wednesday (17 April) to the Masbrough area of Rotherham following reports of a woman who was found unresponsive in College Road.

South Yorkshire Police said “It is reported that the woman, who is in her 40s, was hit by a white Audi A3 which left the scene.”

“She was later taken to hospital with a head injury which is not believed to be life-threatening and remains there in a serious but stable condition.”

A scene was put in place with a section of College Road closed whilst an investigation took place.

The spokesperson added “An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and failing to stop.”

“He remains in police custody at this time.”
