Bomb squad called to Whiston after ‘suspected explosive device’ found at home

Police were called to reports of a suspected explosive device at an address on Sheep Cote Road, Whiston at 3.01pm on Tuesday (21 January)

The occupants of the address were evacuated and the Explosive Ordnance Device (EOD) team attended the scene and safely recovered the ordnance.

A force spokesperson said “The item was found to be inert and pose no risk to the public, and was recovered by the EOD team.”
