Firefighters were called to a multi-vehicle collision on the M1 which left one person trapped
Emergency Services responded at 5.25pm on Thursday (12 January) to reports of a road traffic collision involving three-cars on the M1 northbound between junction 35A and 36.
Firefighters from Elm Lane, Rotherham, Barnsley and Deane stations attended the incident to help rescue one person was trapped inside a vehicle.
Both carriageways between were closed from around 5.45pm for a period of time to allow the Air Ambulance to land.
One woman was taken to hospital with leg injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
