Police appeal after Charity Shop Robbed

Police Detectives are appealingย for information after cash was stolen from a charity shop in Dinnington.

Police were called to the Salvation Army Shop on Laughton Road, at around 3.30pm yesterday (Monday 8 October), after a man entered the shop, threatened staff members and demanded cash from the till.

The man, described as white, aged between 20-23, about 5ft 8ins tall and of a plump build, was also carrying knife.

Detective Constable Laura Proctor, from Rotherham CID, said: โ€œThankfully, no one was injured but this was understandably incredibly traumatic for staff members.

โ€œThe man left with a small amount of cash before leaving on foot towards the Royal Elephant restaurant. We also believe he may have been riding a childโ€™s scooter outside of the shop, prior to the incident occurring.

โ€œWeโ€™d like to speak to anyone who thinks they saw the man, or who has any information about what happened.

โ€œPlease call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting incident number 524 of 8 October 2018 if you have any information.โ€
