Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and assist with an investigation into a road traffic collision
On Tuesday (31 December) police were called at 6.20am to Dearne Road following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
It is believed that a black Vauxhall Mokka was travelling towards Bolton Upon Dearne when it collided with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 75-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
The driver of the car remained on scene and is co-operating with officers.
