A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital on Wednesday evening to after of a firearms discharge at Ferham Road
Emergency Services including armed police responded to Ferham Road shortly after 9.25pm on Wednesday (11 September)
Police said a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening where he remains in hospital in a stable condition.ย
Two other people, a man and a woman, also suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by emergency services.
A force spokesperson said โEvidence was found at the scene consistent with a firearms discharge. A scene remains in place today (12 September) at Ferham Road while officers to conduct their work.โ
Detectives are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident including CCTV trawls. There will also be additional high visibility patrols by officers in the Ferham area following the incident.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assault. He remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Claire Moss from the Armed Crime Team and the Senior Investigating Officer said: โFortunately no one suffered life-threatening injuries in this incident and we are treating this as a targeted attack.
