Police responded to reports of an assault on Bridgegate, Rotherham, at 7.39pm on Saturday 10 August
It was reported that a group of teenage boys and adult men attacked a 47-year-old man, causing injuries that are serious but not life-threatening or life-altering.
The ambulance service attended and the man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
A scene was established whilst officers carried out their investigation
A 21-year-old man, 19-year-old man, 16-year-old and 17-year-old boy have been arrested.ย
The 21-year-old was later released with no further action taken, the three others have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
