Police are appealing for witnesses after a 70-year-old man was killed whilst riding a mobility scooter in the Dalton area

Police were called to Magna Lane at 9.17am on Saturday (15 June) after reports of a collision involving a red Mercedes C220 and a blue mobility scooter.

Police said was reported that the Mercedes, which was heading from the direction of the A630, collided with the mobility scooter as it began to cross Magna Lane, with the collision happening between the junctions at Foljambe Drive and the A630.

The 70-year-old man who was riding the mobility scooter was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since sadly died.

A woman who was driving the Mercedes remained at the scene and has been assisting officers with their enquiries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to this fatal collision or anyone with relevant information or footage to get in touch by calling 101 or online portal quoting incident number 240 of 15 June 2024.
