The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to Rother Valley Country Park this morning after a swimmer was involved in a โmedical emergencyโ at the Open Water Swimming Championships
In a statement issued on Sunday (30th July) by Swim England, they confirmed โdue to a medical emergency, the Swim England Open Water National Masters Championships 2023 was cancelled.
โWe would like to thank the incredible efforts of everybody involved in dealing with the medical emergency โ the swim safety team, medical professionals, emergency services, venue and Swim England staff, officials, volunteers, swimmers and members of the public.โ
โOur thoughts are with the swimmer involved who is currently receiving care in hospital.โ
