HBO series staring Kate Winslet filming at Wentworth Woodhouse

Hollywood Star Kate Winslet is amongst the cast of HBO Title ‘The Regime’ currently being filmed at Wentworth Woodhouse

Produced by US Streaming platform, HBO, The Regime promises to tell the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to unravel.

Alongside Kate Winslet, the cast includes Hugh Grant, Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne and Andrea Riseborough. The wider ensemble also incAludes Danny Webb, David Bamber, Henry Goodman, Stanley Townsend, Louie Mynett, Rory Keenan, Karl Markovics and Pippa Haywood.

The series, previously known as its working title ‘The Palace’ is written by Will Tracy who is most recently known for writing the Succession Series. He is joined alongside Stephen Frears, Frank Rich and Tracey Seaward. Jessica Hobbs also directs and is a co-exec producer.

Described as a “special project” by the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, the House itself remains closed to visitors until April 29.

The grounds of the house are currently fenced off whilst production vehicles, motor homes and a large gazebo remain in place.

The Grade I listed house has previously accommodated a range of filming including Oscar winning film, Darkest Hour, Downton Abbey, ITV’s Victoria, BBC’s Gentleman Jack, and Netflix’s The Crown.

In February last year, Netflix used the Marble Saloon at Wentworth to recreate a state dinner for the Queen in Moscow as part of filming for The Crown.

The Regime is set to air on HBO in 2024.
