Police have confirmed a fire at the former Mecca Bingo on Corporation Street this morning was arson
Emergency services were called to the disused bingo hall in Rotherham town centre just before 10am this morning (27th September)
A temporary road closure was in place whilst South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue tackled the fire
A South Yorkshire police spokesperson said: โInitial investigations by the fire service crews confirmed this to be arson. Enquiries are now ongoing into the incident.
โIf anyone saw or heard anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident, or has any information which could assist enquiries, they are asked to get in touch.โ
