The game between Blackpool and Rotherham at Bloomfield Road has been postponed on safety grounds because of severe weather caused by Storm Darragh
The club said โOur counterparts at Blackpool, along with the match referee and safety officials undertook an early inspection of the pitch and surrounding areas and had initially been hopeful of the game going ahead as planned.โ
โWe would like to apologise to supporters who may have already begun their journeys to Blackpool, which we were hopeful of preventing by staying in touch with colleagues at Bloomfield Road over the course of last night and this morning.โ
Storm Darragh is set to bring 80mph winds to parts of Lancashire over the weekend, prompting the Met Office to issue an amber weather warning.ย
An amber weather warning for โpotentially damagingโ winds will be in place from 3am until 9pm on Saturday (December 7).ย
