Police have charged TWO men following a stabbing at Meadowhall Shopping Centre on Tuesday
Police were called at 6.23pm on Tuesday (2 January) to Meadowhall Shopping Centre following reports of an altercation between a group of men, who were known to each other. Two men were stabbed during the incident and taken to hospital.
One of the men, aged 19, suffered a minor injury and has been discharged. The other man, also aged 19, suffered a serious injury and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Mohammed Yusoof, 20, of Barnsley Road in Sheffield has been charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding, one count of affray and one count of possessing a bladed article in a public place. He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistratesโ Court today (4 January).
Ayaz Luiz, 24, also of Barnsley Road in Sheffield, has been charged with affray. He has been bailed to appear at Sheffield Magistratesโ Court tomorrow (5 January).
South Yorkshire Poice said โOfficers from the dedicated Meadowhall policing team are continuing to carry out additional patrols in the centre alongside other force resources and shopping centre security staff.โ
