Appeal for witnesses after 26-year-old killed in Centenary Way collision

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage to assist with their enquiries

Shortly before midnight last night, Friday 5 May, emergency services were called to a collision involving a grey Honda Civic on Centenary Way. It is believed the car collided with a nearside barrier.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said โ€œThe passenger, a 26-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.โ€

โ€œThe driver, an 18-year-old man, was also taken to hospital but has since been discharged.โ€

โ€œOfficers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage, to contact police.โ€
