Ikea confirms Sheffield store will reopen on June 1st

After closing its doors to shoppers at the start of lockdown, Ikea has confirmed the Sheffield store will reopen on June 1st

The stores restaurant, bistro and play areas will remain closed but the food market will reopen for customers.

Throughout the store, measures will be inplace including extra hand sanitiser, the deep cleaning of trolleys, equipment and screens.

Cash payments will not be accepted, with all payments by card or contactless device only, and customers should avoid travelling to stores just to process refunds.

A spokesman from Ikea said: “The safety of our customers and co-workers remains the highest priority so we have been working hard to welcome you back safely.

“We’ve introduced new measures so you can enjoy a safe and comfortable shopping experience.​”

The chain have also installed safety screens at key points across the store including checkouts to provide extra protection.​
