Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Manvers last night (23 July) which has left a man (19) with life-threatening injuries.
Three motorbikes were travelling along Manvers Way in the Mexborough direction at around 6pm when one of the riders said to be using an off-road pit bike, clipped the central reservation and crashed into a lamppost, a police spokesperson said.
The 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening abdominal injuries.
Officers believe that the two other motorcyclists returned to the scene shortly before emergency services arrived and removed the bike.ย
Police Sergent Adam Renshaw said: โA number of witnesses stopped and called 999, but the other motorcyclists did not stop at the scene.
โWe would really like to speak to these two people as part of our enquiries; they may have information that will help us understand what happened.ย Iโd also urge anyone who knows anything about the location of the bike to get in touch.ย
