FIVE people have been arrested after a Town Centre โassaultโ leaving a man with serious head injuries.
Police were called to Bridgegate in the Town Centre at 4.45pm this evening (9th March) to reports of an assault in the road.
A police spokesperson said: โOne man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries.โ
โFive people have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.โ
Bridgegate remains cordoned off whilst officers investigate the incident.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to assist but the injured male was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Anyone with information about the incident is advised to call police on 101.
