Police were called to a disturbance in the heart of Rotherham town centre this afternoon (April 23), following reports of an assault on College Street.
Officers from South Yorkshire Police were alerted at 2.27pm to an incident involving a man who was reportedly attacked by two other men.
A police spokesperson said: โIt is reported that a man was assaulted by two men and was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
โIt is further reported that the suspects left the scene in a vehicle.
โOfficers attended and have established a scene at College Street.
โEnquiries are ongoing.โ
A police cordon was put in place at both ends of College Street, including the Effingham Street entrance and the junction with Vicarage Lane, as officers carried out initial investigations.
