Four men have been charged following the death of 20-year-old Mackenzie Ball in Rotherham
On Sunday 2 June 2024 shortly after 4pm, we were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Morthen Road at the junction of Moat Lane involving a silver Land Rover Discovery and a silver Subaru Forester.
Mackenzie, who was a passenger in the Land Rover, sadly died at the scene. An investigation was launched and four men will now appear before court charged in connection to his death.
Owen Cocksedge, 19, of HMP Doncaster, is charged with manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle whilst unlicensed/uninsured, causing death by driving whilst disqualified, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
Kowen Pitts, 21, of Jaunty Avenue, Sheffield, and Adam Platts, 20, of Newbould Crescent, Sheffield, are both charged with manslaughter.
Deacon Blake, 18, of Jaunty Avenue, Sheffield, is charged with manslaughter and Section 18 GBH.
All four men are remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 6 March).
