An investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Rotherham.
Yesterday (Sunday 15 February) at 5.46pm, police were called by the ambulance service following a report of a 37-year-old woman who was sadly found deceased in a property in Clough Street.
Her family has been informed and is being supported by our officers.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding her death. As part of our investigation a 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles said:

“We have a team of detectives hard at work to achieve this and ultimately uncover answers for the deceased’s loved ones.

Due to earlier police contact with the victim, in line with normal procedure, a referral has been made to the force’s Professional Standards Department and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
