Traffic has been brought to a standstill on the M1 southbound in following a serious lorry incident
The closure affects the stretch between Junction 35a and Junction 35, where a HGV has left the carriageway within the junction area. As a result, traffic is currently being held while emergency services deal with the incident.
Police, ambulance crews and fire services are all in attendance, and motorists are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
