A drug dealer from Rotherham has been jailed after forensic evidence, phone analysis and a significant drugs seizure linked him to the supply of Class A substances
On 14 August 2024, officers from Rotherhamโs Operation Fortify Team โ a dedicated unit focused on tackling serious and organised crime in the district โ executed a series of warrants across the town. During a search of a property in The Lanes, officers recovered a substantial quantity of suspected Class A drugs.
Fingerprint analysis on wraps of cocaine seized during a police warrant led to the conviction of 27-year-old Jordan Brown.
In total, more than 500 wraps of drugs, with an estimated street value of ยฃ6,200, were seized. Forensic examination of the drug packaging revealed a fingerprint, which was later identified as belonging to Brown.
Following the fingerprint match, officers attended Brownโs flat on 8 July 2025. A thorough search uncovered a coat containing a block of heroin, additional wraps of drugs, and personal items including a passport and bank card in Brownโs name. Drug experts later valued the drugs recovered from the flat at approximately ยฃ16,200.
Brown was arrested the same day and charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.
Brown, of Laudsdale Road, Rotherham, pleaded guilty to both offences on Monday (6 January) at Sheffield Crown Court and was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
Detective Sergeant Matthew Jackson, of the Op Fortify Team, said:”Not only did we find hundreds of wraps of harmful drugs at Brown’s flat, analysis of a phone at the property made it clear that he was involved in drug supply and preparation.
“Drugs and those who supply them are a blight on our communities. As well as ruining lives, drugs perpetuate the commission of other crimes and often feed into organised crime groups.
โI am pleased that another drug dealer is off the streets, and I hope that this result sends a clear message to anyone else who thinks they are above the law that they will be caught and brought to justice.
“If you suspect drug dealing is happening near where you live, report it to us. Your information could lead to a harmful offender like Brown being taken off the streets.”
