An investigation has been launched after an elderly woman died following an incident at a property
It is reported that on Thursday 11 September, the woman was discovered with serious injuries at a property on Peveril Close, in Kiveton Park. Emergency services attended the scene and she was taken to hospital for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, she sadly died on Wednesday 12 November as a result of her injuries. Her family are currently being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
Detectives from the Major Crime Unit have now launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the womanโs death. A police scene remains in place on Peveril Close while forensic enquiries are carried out.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Adam Watkinson, said: “Our priority is determining the circumstances that has sadly resulted in the death of a much loved elderly woman.”
“Understandably, we know this will cause some concerns in the local community. You will see our officers in the local area over the new few days while we conduct our enquiries.”
“We are particularly interested to hear from anyone who may have seen something not quite right around the Kiverton Park area on Wednesday 10 or Thursday 11 September.”
