A planning application has been submitted for a major new residential development in Wickersley, which would see 136 new homes built off Sorby Way.
The proposed scheme aims to deliver housing in what developers describe as a โsustainable location,โ around 600 metres south-west of the A631 Bawtry Road and within easy reach of local public transport services.
The site lies close to the centre of Wickersley, which is already supported by a range of shops, schools, and community facilities considered capable of meeting the needs of new residents.
In line with Rotherhamโs Local Plan Policy CS7, the development will provide 25% affordable housing on site. This equates to 34 homes reserved for affordable provision, helping to meet local demand for accessible housing options.
Final details regarding house types, layouts, and space standards will be confirmed at a later stage through a Reserved Matters application, should outline planning permission be granted.
