A fourth man has been charged following a serious assault that left one man critically injured
At 10.16am on Monday (8 September), police were called to reports of a disturbance at Woodland Drive, North Anston. It is reported that a grey Audi A3 and a white Audi S3 collided with the gates of a property and that a group of people were fighting at the scene.
Officers and ambulance crews attended. A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.
Dean Cruickshanks, aged 30, of Monksbridge Road, Rotherham, is charged with violent disorder, possessing a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place, and dangerous driving. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday 13 September).
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and dangerous driving. A 30-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders. All three remain in custody at this time.
Stephen Heeley, aged 26, of Leicester Road, Dinnington, appeared at Sheffield Magistratesโ Court on Thursday (11 September) charged with violent disorder and possessing a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place.
Two other men appeared in court on Wednesday (10 September) charged in connection with the disturbance.
- Liam Hancock, age 33, of Caperns Road, Rotherham, is charged with violent disorder and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
- Michael Hall, age 44, of Worksop Road, Rotherham, is charged with violent disorder and possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
All three men have been remanded into custody ahead of appearing at Sheffield Crown Court on 8 October 2025.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cartwright, the senior investigating officer in this case, said:
