The force confirmed that its enquiries into the credibility of these claims have determined they are false. Police say there is no known increased threat in Rotherham or anywhere else in South Yorkshire.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: โOur intelligence department continually monitors and identifies any alleged threats. We work closely with partner agencies to assess credibility and, in the event of a credible threat, ensure appropriate action is taken to mitigate any risk.โ
