A 56-year old woman from Maltby convicted of fraud has been ordered to pay back £40,000 gained through criminal activity
Paula White, 56, of Beresford Road, Maltby, was sentenced to 29 months in prison in March 2024 after being convicted of multiple fraud offences.
Investigators from the Forces Asset Recovery Team assessed White’s assets, which can include anything from property and high-value vehicles to bank holdings, and determined the amount she had available to repay.
On 4 June 2025, a court granted a confiscation order requiring her to repay £42,500 within three months.
Laura Hough, Head of the Economic Crime Unit, said: “The work the Asset Recovery Team provides is essential to ensuring that criminals do not continue to benefit from their lives of crime after being through the courts.
“The money secured through POCA hearings goes back into the forces that issue the orders, helping to fund community grant schemes and officer training. This allows us to give back to the communities who would have felt the impact of these crimes.”
