The building previously occupied by Big Smoke, a well-known restaurant in Moorgate, is set to reopen this summer as a new sports bar
Big Smoke announced its immediate closure on 27th May, citing difficult trading conditions. A statement released by the restaurant said, โEconomic changes have made the business unsustainable,โ leaving many regular customers surprised and disappointed by the sudden decision.
The venueโs new occupants, Press Box Rotherham, describe the incoming establishment as a โgame-changer,โ with a clear focus on providing a comprehensive sports bar experience.
โFourteen screens showing multiple sports at once, so youโll never miss the action,โ the business said in a statement. โProper sports bar atmosphere with sports bar food, cold beer, and cocktails that will keep you coming back.โ
Beyond its live sports coverage, Press Box Rotherham will feature a range of interactive facilities. These include a golf simulator featuring world-class courses, two 22-foot shuffleboards, three traditional dart boards alongside one interactive lane, a foosball table, and several pool tables.
โWeโve gone further than just screens and good grub,โ the statement continued. โThe Press Box has everything you need for mate dates and competitive sessions that settle debates once and for all.โ
Press Box Rotherham is scheduled to open on 1st August.
