
Police have made additional arrests as part of an ongoing investigation into an attempted murder in Eastwood
At around 4.40pm on Saturday, 24 May, emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Fitzwilliam Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 48-year-old man with serious injuries believed to have been caused by a vehicle. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
As enquiries continue, an 18-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
A 30-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody.
These arrests follow earlier developments in the case. A 45-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A 25-year-old woman who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action.
Marcin Chroback, 22, of Bawtry Road, Rotherham, has been charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident. He appeared at Sheffield Magistratesโ Court on Friday, 27 May, and was remanded into custody. He is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 25 June.
Additionally, two men aged 25 and 27 have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and fraud. Both have been released on police bail while investigations continue.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
