A 19-year-old man has tragically died following a serious road traffic collision in Rotherham on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Warren Vale at 2.09pm on 8 May after a crash involving a purple Yamaha motorbike and a black Ford Puma.
Despite the efforts of first responders, the young motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the Ford Puma, a 65-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services carried out investigations and reopened just after 7pm.
South Yorkshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
