A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Todwick
The incident took place on Friday 4 April at around 3.15pm, when 81-year-old cyclist Graham Slinn was involved in a collision on the A57 at Todwick. Emergency services attended the scene, but despite their best efforts, Mr Slinn was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle believed to have been involved fled the scene, but officers have since located and recovered it.
Following further enquiries, a 20-year-old man was re-arrested on Saturday 12 April and has now been charged in connection with the incident.
Cain Byrne, of Redvers Buller Road, Chesterfield, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Magistratesโ Court on Monday 14 April.
A 46-year-old woman has also been re-arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting the offence. She has been released on police bail.
A 21-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop remains on bail.
A 24-year-old man also remains on bail after being arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders and perverting the course of justice.
