No charges as investigation into East Dene garage blaze is closed

Emergency services have completed their investigation into a fire at a commercial garage in East Dene

Police were alerted at 4:30 pm on Sunday (March 9) by South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue following reports of a fire at a commercial garage.

Initially believed to have been started deliberately, officers launched an arson investigation and a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

South Yorkshire Police have since provided an update stating: “The investigation has been closed, as no evidence was found to suggest the fire was anything other than accidental.”
