Police have charged a 42-year-old man with attempted robbery after confronting an 84-year-old demanding money
Police were called at 7.35am on Tuesday (7 January) to reports of an attempted robbery at a launderette on High Street in Rotherham.
It is reported that a man wearing a face covering approached an 84-year-old man demanding money.
The victim refused and the suspect left the premises empty-handed.
Lloyd Smith, 42, of no fixed abode, is charged with attempted robbery. He will appear before Sheffield Magistratesโ Court today (Friday 10 January).
