The Arc Cinema in Rotherham announced that it will be opening its doors a week earlier than planned to celebrate National Cinema Day on Saturday, 31st August.
This exciting development means that the people of Rotherham will not miss out on the chance to spend National Cinema Day in their brand-new local cinema – the town’s first in over 30 years!
“Although we are not yet fully operational, with a limited schedule of screenings and not all screens open, we’ve ensured that there’s enough on offer to allow Rotherham’s most dedicated movie fans to enjoy their new cinema this weekend.”
In honour of National Cinema Day, all tickets will be priced at just £4 for every show, all day long – including our two premium large format HYPERSENSE screens.
Ordinarily carrying a premium price, these state-of-the-art screens feature Dolby Atmos® surround sound, luxurious leather recliner seating, and giant wall-to-wall screens for the ultimate cinematic experience.
“We couldn’t bear the thought of Rotherham missing out on National Cinema Day, especially when we’re so so close” said Laura Vickers, the new General Manager of The Arc Cinema Rotherham.
“We know how excited everyone is to see the new cinema, and we wanted to give the community a sneak peek. It’s a perfect opportunity for Rotherham’s film lovers to be among the first to enjoy our incredible facilities.”
The films showing include blockbuster hits from the past couple months that The Arc Cinema wasn’t open to screen, such as Alien Romulus, Twisters, The Crow, and Deadpool & Wolverine. Family hits from the summer such as Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, and Harold & The Purple Crayon are also on the schedule, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
This early opening is not just about celebrating National Cinema Day; it’s also a great opportunity to showcase the brand-new team of nearly 30 local staff members who have been hard at work preparing for the grand opening on 6th September. Yesterday, our team was in full swing, stocking the fridges, popping the popcorn, and getting everything ready to welcome the people of Rotherham.
