Plans for a £6.6m tram-train stop at Magna Science Adventure Centre have been approved
The £6.6M stop at Magna Science Adventure Centre will be the newest addition to the route since opening in 2018.
The station comprises two platforms designed to accommodate a single tram-train unit. Access to the station would be directly from the existing Magna complex car park.
Expected amenities include a shelter, informational displays, lighting, CCTV surveillance, and designated space for bicycle parking.
The redesign of the current car park aims to increase its capacity to 399 spaces, along with the provision of dedicated cycle parking, totaling 21 spaces.
This development aims to support Magna’s expansion in hosting events and foster the growth of its nighttime activities.
Sheffield’s City Region will fund £6.6m from their £166m Transforming City Fund into the new tram stop.
