Kate Winslet spotted at Wentworth Woodhouse as trailer for new SKY series is released

Sky has released the official trailer for the series THE REGIME, featuring Kate Winslet

In April 2023, Hollywood Star Kate Winslet was amongst the crew of HBO Title ‘The Regime’ being filmed at Wentworth Woodhouse.

Produced by US Streaming platform, HBO, The Regime promises to tell the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to unravel.

“The darkly comedic six-episode series tells the story of life within the walls of a modern authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel. After not leaving the palace for quite some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet) has grown increasingly paranoid and unstable when she turns to a volatile soldier, Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), as an unlikely confidant. As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor continues to grow, Elena’s attempts to expand her power eventually result in both the palace and the country fracturing around her. ”

Alongside Kate Winslet, the cast includes Hugh Grant, Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne and Andrea Riseborough. The wider ensemble also incAludes Danny Webb, David Bamber, Henry Goodman, Stanley Townsend, Louie Mynett, Rory Keenan, Karl Markovics and Pippa Haywood.

The series, previously known as its working title ‘The Palace’ is written by Will Tracy who is most recently known for writing the Succession Series. He is joined alongside Stephen Frears, Frank Rich and Tracey Seaward. Jessica Hobbs also directs and is a co-exec producer.

The Grade I listed house has previously accommodated a range of filming including Oscar winning film, Darkest Hour, Downton Abbey, ITV’s Victoria, BBC’s Gentleman Jack, and Netflix’s The Crown.
