Fundraiser launched as Newman Special Schools SECOND minibus is stolen

The minibus of Newman Special School has been stolen, depriving pupils of vital transport in the local area

Newman School in Whiston uses its essential vehicles to transport children aged 2-19 with Special educational needs and disability’s in the Rotherham area.

The adapted school bus which is fitted with essential hoists, lifts, ramps, and safety equipment was stolen on Tuesday (27th February)

The school said “It is really disappointing to report despite taking additional security measures the remaining Newman School fully accessible minibus has been stolen!”

”We have again been advised by the Police to notify our communities in case it has been abandoned locally. The stolen vehicle registration is SF19 AUK, if you do hear any information relating to it please contact 101 or [email protected]

In December 2023 a similar bus was stolen from the school.
