Over a 12 month period South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have been called to Canklow 77 times
40 of those are false alarms, but 33 are deliberate fires including vehicles, bins, furniture and trees.
False alarms are costly and disruptive to the fire service, where crews are required to mobilise and respond to a non-existent emergencyโs, wasting resources and time could potentially endanger people who need emergency help.
A spokesperson for the force said โYou can help tackle arson by contacting FireStoppers and sharing what you know about deliberate fires in your area.โ
