American fried chicken restaurant Popeyes is opening the doors to its first-ever drive-thru restaurant on Monday, and one lucky person will be chosen for a VIP experience as the first fan ever to go through a Popeyes drive-thru in the UK.
The lucky winner selected for the coveted prize will be forever listed in the Popeyes hall-of-fame with the opportunity to be the first ever person to go through the new drive-thru; win free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year*; and be given exclusive merchandise
The drive-thru will then officially open its doors to the public on Monday 15 May, pulling out all the stops to showcase its Southern hospitality as it brings a taste of New Orleans to South Yorkshire.
Guests are advised to get down quickly to beat the round-the-block queues which have become synonymous with Popeyes restaurant launches, with diners all over the country having previously queued from as early as 10pm the night before.

The new store, located at Parkgate Shopping Centre in Rotherham, adds to Popeyes® UK’s portfolio of 17 restaurants across the country. The plans for the drive-thru include seating indoors and outside, a dual-ordering lane to reduce expected vehicle queues, and a car park for fans who would like to eat inside the 104-seat restaurant.
