Plans have been submitted to build a Starbucks on land off Riverside Way at Templeborough

Local property developers, Primesite Group Limited has submitted a planning application to Rotherham Council to build on vacant land land adjacent to the former Toyota Dealership off Riverside Way

Last week we revealed plans for the former car showroom to be developed into a 24-hour petrol station with food outlets and drive-thru coffee shop

The plans including a drive thru / cafe building adjacent to the roundabout on Sheffield Road which would be occupied by American coffee chain, Starbucks.

Consultants at Nineteen47, say: “The overarching aspiration of the site is to create a convenient stopping off point for vehicles traveling between Sheffield and Rotherham, providing services in the form of a café/drive thru and EV charging Station.”

If approved, the development would create 10 part time and 10 full time jobs.

A Flood Risk Assessment within the application shows that the site is within Flood Zone 2 (medium risk of flooding), benefitting from defences and the implementation of the Rotherham Renaissance Flood Alleviation Scheme (RRFAS) and the raised flood defences present on the banks of the River Don adjacent to the site.

The plans also include a 745 sqm Commercial Unit and an Electric Vehicle Charging Station located to the north of the site.
