Motorcyclist (26) suffers serious injuries in collision with lamppost

A 26-year-old man has been left in a serious condition after a collision with a lamppost

Emergency services including an Air Ambulance were called to Centenary Way, at 2:06pm yesterday (11 October 2022) to reports that a motorcyclist had collided with a lamppost.

A police spokesperson said “the rider, a 26-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital at this time.”

adding “enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and police are appealing to anyone who may have dashcam or may have seen the collision, or the motorbike prior to the collision, to get in touch.”

The road was closed whilst an investigation was carried out but reopened at around 6:20pm last night.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them on live chat, online portal or by calling 101 quoting incident number 572 of 11 October 2022
