A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after an attack near Holmes Lock

Police said a 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after being assaulted by suspects who are “known to him” shortly after 9.10pm on Monday (10th October)

The 26-year-old received treatment for head and arm injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

A police spokesman said: “We received a call at 9:11pm yesterday (October 10) to reports of a man who had been assaulted on Steel Street in Rotherham. The victim, a 36 year-old man, suffered injuries to his head and arms.

“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The suspects are believed to be known to the victim and enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances and identify those involved.”
