Firefighters were called to the industrial recycling site at 11:10pm last night on Lyme Street, Masbrough
Five fire engines from Rotherham, Elm Lane, Parkway, Central and Dearne station are currently at a large fire involving recycling material inside an industrial building.
A spokesperson confirmed that around 30 firefighters are at the scene tackling the fire.
People are advised to avoid the area if possible and due to the smoke local residents are asked to keep their doors and windows closed.
“An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place once it is completely out.” The spokesperson added
