Police investigating after shots fired in Herringthorpe

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after shots were fired in the Chaucer Road area of East Herringthorpe yesterday

Police were called at around 8:15pm on Monday (2 November) to reports that a silver 4×4 vehicle had collided with another vehicle, before two males were seen to run off.

The collision is believed to be linked to the shots fired

A police spokesperson confirmed “Two men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. They remain in police custody.”

There have been no reported injuries

Police are now appealing for witnesses “Were you in the area at the time? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Do you think you may have CCTV or dash cam footage of what happened?”

“If you think you can help our officers, please call 101 quoting incident number 867 of 2 November 2020.”
