Police were called to College Street after reports that a traffic warden had been assaulted by a motorist
Police responded to reports that a female parking enforcement officer had been punched in the chest shortly after dinner time on Wednesday.
The incident happened a ticket was issued for misuse of a disabled parking bay
A police spokeswoman added: “The car owner removed the ticket from his car and drove away before officers arrived.”
The spokesperson said “An investigation has now been launched and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 318 of November 11.”
