A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction after he reportedly approached students in Herringthorpe
Police said that they received reports from members of the public from at 8.50am today (24th September) detailing a man in a car who was said to be approaching and speaking to people in the Herringthorpe area.
A police spokesperson said, It’s believed some of those approached were students at local schools.
The spokesperson added “Officers arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted abduction, possession of a knife, assault of an emergency worker, escape from lawful custody and criminal damage,”
“He remains in police custody.”
