Woman injured after police pursuit crashes on wrong side of Centenary Way

Police are appealing for information and dashcam footage following a collision on Centenary Way

At 11.55am on Wednesday (3 June) a silver Vauxhall Vectra failed to stop for police before travelling the wrong way along Centenary Way.

The Vauxhall was then involved in a collision with a red Peugeot 107 at the junction of Sheffield Road near to Ickes Roundabout

“A 73-year-old woman who was driving the Peugeot was taken to hospital, where she remains for observations.” A police spokesperson said

“The driver of the Vauxhall Vectra, a 27-year-old Rotherham man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of controlled drugs.”

“He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.” The spokesperson added.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and asking for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to call 101 quoting incident number 363 of 3 June.
