Man arrested as detectives appeal for information after ‘inappropriate’ comments made to teenage girls Wickersley

Detectives are appealing for help after an incident in Wickersley Park where an unknown man made ‘inappropriate’ comments to two teenage girls

On Wednesday 20 May, it was reported that two girls, aged 14 and 15 years-old were walking along a gennel, leading to Wickersley park between 8:30pm and 9pm when they were approached by a man.

The man is then alleged to have approached the girls and made inappropriate comments, a police spokesperson said.

“A woman, unknown to the girls spoke with them as he left the area. The girls were both unharmed.”

Police are keen to speak to the woman who witnessed the incident and anyone else in the area, may have spoken to the girls after the incident, or have any information that can help officers with their enquiries.

“A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and remains in police custody.”
