Man (51) charged with theft of care home charity boxes

Police have charged a 51 year-old man after he stole two charity boxes from a care home in Swinton

John Talbot of Briery Walk, Greasbrough was arrested and later charged by police after the theft of two charity boxes from a care home on Fitzwilliam Road.

The fundraising boxes belonged to PAWS and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

A police spokesperson said “After enquiries carried out by officers in Rotherham, John Talbot, of Briery Walk, Greasbrough was detained on 23 March”

“The 51-year-old was later charged the next day (24 March) and is now remanded in police custody”

He will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 21st April.
